Lisa Flynn
Name

Lisa Flynn

Position

National Legal Partner

Profile

Lisa believes the trials she overcomes in her career pale in comparison to her client’s personal challenges. “I see it as our job as plaintiff litigation lawyers to overcome challenges. Our clients often have to overcome much harder challenges. We, as their lawyers, are tasked with overcoming their legal challenges – so that it is one less challenge that our clients have to overcome. This is what our job is,” she says. This selfless approach to her line of work has seen Lisa successfully drive tough cases to the finish line with real passion and enthusiasm “I would describe myself as passionate about obtaining justice for people who have been wronged.” She says. And “getting the right result for a client and making a difference to their life,” gives her great satisfaction and enjoyment.

Stuart MacLeod
Name

Stuart MacLeod

Position

Queensland Legal Partner

Profile

Stuart’s idea of litigation is practical and straightforward, without the pomp and ceremony that takes place in traditional law firms. “My aim has always been to achieve the very best results for my clients with minimum fuss.” he said. Stuart qualified as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales in 1996. After moving to Australia in 2003 from the UK one of Stuart’s biggest challenges was adapting to the Australian jurisdiction after ten years of practicing law in the UK. Underlining the determination that has made him an exceptional litigator, Stuart made a quick transition and was rewarded with promotion to Associate and then Legal Partner in quick succession. He has risen to the most senior legal post in Shine's home state, appointed Queensland Legal Partner in 2009. But Stuart still thrives on the heat of battle - going up against the large insurance companies and respective Defendant’s law firms. “To represent the interests of a client against large corporations and to achieve results that will change people’s lives is the best part of our work,” he said.

Angela Henderson

Position

Brisbane Legal Partner

Profile

Angela believes the practice of law requires a certain discipline in order to succeed. This discipline means being the expert on every aspect of a case, “know your stuff, know your opponent, anticipate their every move and be one step ahead.” she says. And with a background in both plaintiff and defendant law Angela is well aware of her opponent. This combined with passion, courage and commitment to the pursuit of justice for everyday people is what sets her apart from other legal practitioners. Being able to use her expertise to help people is what Angela believes is the greatest privilege in her line of work “to have the knowledge, skill set and resources to help ordinary members of the community who are in need, achieve justice,” as well as “helping people in need who are often overwhelmed by the legal system.”

No Win, No Fee Lawyers

At Shine Lawyers, we have a fee structure in place to ensure that everyday people can fight for their legal rights, despite the cost of upfront legal fees. We will only charge fees if the outcome is successful. We assist you from the beginning to prosecute your case, by deferring payment of our professional fees and expenses until the matter has been resolved.

If we investigate your circumstances and believe you have a case, we will not ask you for any money until the successful conclusion of your matter.

In most instances, we will also pay all the running costs until your case has been resolved. This is called no win, no fee. A 'win' is defined as you recovering money from the opponent and/or for legal costs and expenses either at trial or by settlement.

Therefore, if you don't get paid, we don't get paid. This is a promise we make to you.

Philosophy: Right Wrong

Right Wrong: We hope it empowers you to seek justice for yourself, your family and society. The choice to right wrong takes courage and we will support you in standing your ground against those who abuse the rules of the law to avoid their responsibilities and obligations.

Whether the wrong has occurred in your workplace, or because of another person or company, standing up for your rights means safeguarding the rights of those around you too.

Why we choose to specialise in our field

At Shine Lawyers we are committed to specialise solely in our field of plaintiff litigation, has enabled superior business efficiency, development of custom systems and consistent business performance and more importantly better results for our clients.

Our specialist strategy means we focus all of our time, energy, resources, training and development in one area of law to become experts in that field and stay ahead of the pack. We use systems and processes, which make us faster and more successful in pursuing cases. In addition, because Shine Lawyers focus on plaintiff litigation as their core business the no win, no charge policy is applicable to all of our practice areas
