A DOCTOR used an ultrasound probe "like it was a sex toy" and had a delighted expression on his face as he fondled a female patient's genitals, a court has been told. The Crown prosecutor Margaret Cunneen, SC, told the Sydney District Court that the man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, touched or manipulated the clitorises of five women during gynaecological examinations in NSW in 2002 and 2003.One of the patients broke down in the witness box yesterday while recalling an internal ultrasound performed by the doctor, saying he used the probe "more like a sex toy than the probe it was supposed to be"."His fingers touched my clitoris and labia more than once," she said. "There were repeated touches, at times like a caress ... he looked really delighted and he was smiling."The man is charged with five counts of assault and commit an act of indecency with a person under his authority. His barrister, John Stratton, SC, said the patients involved complained only after a "massive publicity campaign that was encouraged and orchestrated by two firms of lawyers".The trial continues.
