SYDNEY ROOSTERS star Todd Carney pleaded guilty to a drink-driving charge yesterday as club officials said they were happy with his rehabilitation progress. Carney did not appear in Waverley Local Court, leaving his lawyer Stephen Alexander to enter the plea after the five-eighth recorded a blood-alcohol reading of 0.052 on February 26. As a P-plater he is not permitted any alcohol in his system. He will be sentenced on April 6. Carney has conceded that he had a problem with alcohol and needed counselling. Roosters chief executive Steve Noyce yesterday said the club was "working through the plan and we're happy with how that's going". Carney is set to play on Sunday against Manly at the SFS.
