After googling for a Conveyancer on the Gold Coast I telephoned Attwood Marshall. I was unfamiliar with the purchase procedure in Queensland and I was able to speak to the Department Manager who discussed the process with me and gave me an estimate of the fees and disbursements anticipated, which proved to be very close to the mark. I am very happy with the service I received and will certainly use them again should the need arise.

My wife & I recently appointed Attwood Marshall to handle the legal matters relating to the sale of our home. We both knew that Attwood Marshall would not necessarily be the least expensive option however we beleived that in a transaction as important the possible slight increase in cost was inignificant compared to the peace of mind you have knowing that the matters is in safe hands. Attwood Marshalls staff were professional & courteous. They kept us involved in the whole process & communicated with us as often as was appropriate. We would recommond Attwood Marshall to anyone seeking legal representation.

Jeff Garrett

Practice Director

Year Joined

Jeff originally started work with Attwood Marshall as an Articled Law Clerk in February 1981. His master Solicitor during the course of his Articles was Bob Marshall. Although his initial practical work was in the commercial area under Bob Marshall, it was quickly apparent that his forte was in litigation and that has been the predominant area that Jeff has practised in since starting at Attwood Marshall as a young 18 year old Articled Clerk in 1981. Jeff became a partner in the firm in 1991 and later took over the running of the personal injuries department which at that stage had 16 people working in the department. Jeff later became one of the first lawyers to become a dual accredited Law Society specialist in personal injury law in both New South Wales and Queensland. Throughout his career, Jeff has also had extensive experience in commercial litigation matters involving all types of different disputes and issues. It is through his experience in the litigation area that led him to his current area of expertise which is structuring and estate planning. Jeff is the architect of the firm’s systems and the firm’s wish to become a paperless office. Jeff became the managing partner of Attwood Marshall in 1998 and has continued in that role since that time. His experience in running a multi million dollar turnover business has enabled him to provide years of practical experience to our various business and corporate clients. Jeff is an avid thoroughbred racehorse breeder and has a small boutique stud at Mudgeeraba in the Gold Coast Hinterland. It is his experience in the thoroughbred industry that has triggered the equine influenza class action and the development of Attwood Marshall’s specialist division in thoroughbred breeding and racing. Although Jeff still has an active file load, his main duties of more recent times are concentrated on running the business of Attwood Marshall Lawyers Pty Ltd and continually improving the systems and training of our employees to ensure that we deliver a quality legal product.

Your service was excellent. The matter was ahndled professionally & created a stress free result. I have been associated with Attwood Marshall for over 30 years so I guess that says it all.
John Maddock , Gold Coast
I am in receipt of the settlement monies from my accident claim, thank you very much. I have completed the 'client service review' form but there was no area set aside to allow me to express my gratitude to you personally. From knowing nothing about the procedure required when seeking compensation for injuries sustained in vehicle accidents, you have been most thorough in guiding me down that road - no pun intended. All the doctor's examinations, flights to Sydney, X-rays etc, forensic accountant reports and reams of paperwork to dissect have all contributed to such a successful outcome. I am extremely happy with the end result and most impressed by the speed of settlement in under three and a half years. On a personal scale, I have enjoyed the experience of having you represent me and always felt comfortable in the guidelines you gave me. The word 'lawyer' can be very daunting to most people but not when the right one is working for you! Yes, I will recommend you and your company and indeed would use you again.......but hopefully it won't be for another vehicle accident.
Nicole Campbell , Gold Coast

Theresa Patterson , Gold Coast
Hi Chris Just a note to thank you for your representations on my behalf, in relation to my personal injuries claim (MVA). Your assistance was very much appreciated.
Shane, Kelly, Jett, Boston, Cruz & Gypsy , Gold Coast
To dear Chris, I am sure you think that you are just doing your job, but we wanted to make sure you know that we appreciate what you`ve done for me personally and my family most importantly. People dont understand what a situation like this does for you! Its not just about the daily pain or loss of wages, it is so much more. Its pride, security, confidence, self esteem, people dont treat you the same when you are not 'out there working hard', pulling in the money, climbing ladders, your mates dont call much when you can`t go for a surf, or a fish or down the pub because you can`t afford it. It`s even hard for your kids when you cant do much with them or the "What does your dad do" question pops up..... But Chris you didn`t even make us feel like that, you always treated me with respect and we always felt your empathy, warmth and dedication to our case. Thank you so much from the bottoms of our hearts, not just for the great win you resolved but for your support and professionalism and never too busy to answer our calls and questions.
